Education

As a teacher of theatre, music, and movement I focus on empowering children to honor
their creative ideas and to lean into imaginative play through song, dance, and dramatic games.
I enjoy incorporating various mediums in the classroom and coming up with unique stories
for children to present to a supportive audience of loved ones.

I am currently in my fifth year of teaching theatre and creative ballet classes at a children’s theatre in San Francisco, where I work with children ages 2.5 - 12. This space is dedicated to creative exploration through imaginative play, using a variety of tools— costumes, music, dance, crafts, storybooks, masks, and puppets! I pull from this toolkit to create special classes that resonate with the particular group of kiddos I have in a given session. Many of the classes I teach culminate in a performance or play inspired by the children who are participating. For these, I often create set pieces out of cardboard and other post-consumer materials for the kids to decorate. I also direct these shows, and often write original songs for them to perform live.

I am also Music Together certified, and spent a year teaching classes for children ages 0-5 and their grown-ups in San Francisco. In these classes, I led families through song and dance with movement, instruments, props, and visual illustrations.

In addition, I have experience teaching this curriculum at various elementary schools in San Francisco, both public and private.
